Actually, he got played by the scammer mainly because he was kinda intrigued about a car. A car? Not any car, though, we’re talking about the Mercedes-AMG ONE here.
For those who know little to nothing about this car, well, it is a limited production car, which is a full-on Formula 1 car made to be driven on regular streets as well. Like, quite literally, it has an F1 engine inside it. So far, in the entire world, there are only 275 of these cars, and not everybody can get access to this car.
Yep, you heard us, it isn’t like you walk right into a car showroom and buy one off. Nah! That’s not how it goes, even if you have the money, you need more things, and those are the connection, invitations, and a bit of LUCK too. This is the thing that got Manny super intrigued and interested in this car, so he just decided to go for it. And this is where he slipped into a super elaborate scam.
How the Scam Went Down
Back in around 2021 or 2022, Manny actually got in touch with someone who was claiming to be someone who would get him a Mercedes-AMG ONE. Right from the get go, Manny thought he was the real connection, so he went with the deal, and sure enough, he sent him $3.4 million. Full payment right there!
Now the wait started. And in 2023, when this all became way too long of a waiting game, Manny was frustrated because there was no delivery made, no updates, no nothing! And soon after that, Manny came to his senses and realized that he had been played here. Hard actually!
